We Need Your Help: Fund Raise for SRSH

If you believe that it is important to talk about mental health, if you believe that students should have access to informal support and if you believe that encouraging people to be confident talking about mental health is important, you can help us achieve all these things.

Ideas?

Clothes Swap:
  • Send out a big shout out that you are looking for people to donate their unwanted clothes (best time to do this is the last week of a holiday so that people remember to bring their unwanted clothes, and send a reminder out before the last weekend of that holiday)
  • Find a good venue and time (ideally somewhere where people can try the items on!)
  • Then advertise the day of your swap- its free entry and items priced between £1-£5 with refreshments
  • The night before- prepare the refreshments and WASH the clothes!
  • On the day put the different priced items on their own table, so a £1 table, £2 table etc

Fat Talk Free:

o   Get sponsored for every day/week/month you can go without talking about fat – to find out more about Fat Talk Free visit -

Cake Sale

o   At most students unions, you can book a stall with the union to run a cake sale, ask at your Student Union Reception.
o   You need to get a few keen cooks together to get baking, loads of fun when done together.

Dinner Party

o   Eating together is always fun, even if you don’t have a kitchen table in your student house – makes for creative dinning!
o   Let your friends know that you are hosting dinner to support SRSH and ask them to make a donation in return for their invitation!

Host a body loving fashion show

You need a room in your union, some clothes and some willing models

Speak to your Societies

o   Check out the societies in your university – someone like the Jazz Society may be happy to hold a concert to raise money for SRSH.

Run a marathon!

Host a Pub Quiz
