The SRSH Love Your Body Campaign

Start Loving YOUR Body Today

What is this campaign?

We at SRSH know how important an issue body image is right now; there’s always coverage around the topic in the press, and it’s an issue which everyone can relate to and is affected by, sadly often on a daily basis.

We want generate as much LOVE as we can for our bodies! We think too much time is spent thinking and talking about what we dislike about the way we look and what we want to change. Love Your Body aims to inspire body confidence through getting everyone to do just that, encouraging everyone to think about what they love about their bodies.

‘ Our bodies come in all shapes and sizes. What do you love about yours ?'

Why do we need to run this campaign?

The All Parliamentary Group on Body Image recently published a report which presents some pretty shocking statistics about body image dissatisfaction across the UK, especially among young people, which make a strong case for why promoting body confidence is something which needs our attention.

Here are just a few of the statistics which came out of the report (if you would like to have a look at the full report, go to http://www.ymca.co.uk/bodyimage/parliament );
  • 60% of adults report that they feel ashamed of the way they look
  • 34% of adolescent boys and 49% of girls have been on a diet to change their body shape or to lose weight
  • 42% of girls and young women feel that the most negative part about being a female is the pressure to look attractive
  • One in four 7 year old girls has tried to lose weight at least once.

  • There is evidence to suggest that ‘individuals with body image dissatisfaction are less likely to value their body , or prioritize their health , and are more likely to engage in disordered or unhealthy  behaviors ’.

How can I get involved with this campaign

We really want people to get talking about the parts of our bodies we love the most, so why not simply start a conversation with your friends about what you love about your bodies.

Even better, take that conversation online and share it with us-

  • If you’re on twitter, go and get involved now by tweeting us at what you love the most about your body with the hashtag #loveyourbody.

  • Or go to and join the conversation there!
